People Helping People

Make a Difference

GRACE is a vital source for our community to get the nutritious food and household supplies they need. But we are more than that - we help our people tend to larger goals such as getting vaccinated against COVID and the flu, obtaining a driver's license, understanding affordable health insurance options, finding work, and obtaining assistance for utility bills.

After the generous in-kind donations we are lucky to receive, we still must spend over $8,000 on average each week to support over 600 families, which includes 150 senior citizens and 700 children.

GRACE is fully funded by grants, community partners, in-kind services and generous community donations. We need your help to make sure everyone in our community can live in good health and security.

Please consider the many ways you can support GRACE to sustain demand and support greater stability that ensures everyone is #happyhealthysecure.

GRACE is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

DONATE TODAY TO SUPPORT A FAMILY

  • Summer Camp

A mother came to GRACE in the midst of a life storm that lead to losing her home again for the summer. Her biggest barrier is finding reliable summer care and a place for her 12-year-old daughter to enjoy the summer despite her family’s hardships. Just last week GRACE enabled our community connections and resources to sponsor six weeks of sleep away summer camp for her daughter. Now mom can focus on securing a better-paying job, finding a new family home, and getting her feet back on the ground so her daughter will have a safe place to return to before school starts up again.

  • School Snacks

We are lucky our Summit schools offer wrap around enrichment programs for their students. Last year they noticed increased food insecurity among their participants and asked for GRACE’s support. We heeded the call and delivered.

This summer, as soon as school closed for the school year we delivered kid-friendly snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks to keep the young summer scholars fueled, focused, and energized for the summer and its fun.

  • A Breath of Fresh Air

Last summer during the forest fire smoke emergency, a senior developed lung issues from the air quality in her apartment, the heat and smoke worsened her condition. Thanks to connections from our GRACE community, an air conditioner with backup filters arrived at her home within 24 hours of reaching out to GRACE. Thanks to the neighbor who was ready and able to help. Our friend was able to breathe easily and live comfortably for the summer.

  • Everyone in the Pool!

For those familiar, we can all agree the Family Aquatic Center is one of our greatest community resources. Family membership for the season falls outside many household’s budget. This shuts kids and their grown ups out of active fun with their community. Thanks to the Department of Community Programs and the Youth Advisory Council, there will be a night this year where every Summit resident can make a splash, join in the fun, and swim with friends and neighbors. Join us on June 26th, 5-7pm at the Summit Family Aquatic Center - Pool Party FREE for all Summit Residents.

Make a bigger impact!

Engage -

Many of our donors volunteer with GRACE to engage in a deeper understanding of our community and mission. Getting involved makes a difference. GRACE operates with the support of over 1,000 volunteer hours each month. Consider bringing your team along to volunteer. There are always opportunities for corporate partnerships and groups to serve and learn together.

Consider sustaining impact with your financial planning -

Legacy gifts, endowments and investments make a sustaining impact and ensure that GRACE may continue to be a reliable and stable source of support for our neighbors most in need. Talk to your financial advisor about opportunities to set up your donor advised fund and direct your support to GRACE. Consider listing your favorite charity in your trust or will, and consider ways your retirement plan can help you realize philanthropic outreach while gaining tax benefits. Give a recurring gift through your stocks and securities, while investing in GRACE’s financial security.
